New Primary Language Curriculum for English & Irish - Junior infants to Second Class

U13 Roinn D Schools Hurling League

Round 1 - Away vs Model School on Wednesday 6th March at 3.30pm. Match will be played in O.L.G. Club Grounds.

Players involved will leave at 2.45pm.


FAI 5 A Side Soccer in Thomastown FC

Tuesday 26th March : Boys

Thursday 28th March : Girls

Matches start at 10am on both days, so we will leave at 9.20am. Matches finish at 1.45pm so we will be back for 2.30pm in school. Players & Teams to be selected closer to the time.

Final Day Wednesday 3rd April for teams who qualify.


St. Abbans Athletic Club Quiz

Semi Final Wednesday 6th March in Killeen Hall at 8pm €2 per individual. We hope to send 4 teams to the quiz.


Buddy Bench

Talk for all classes on Monday 11th March. Social & Interaction and Relationships talk 5/6th Class 9.20 to 10.05am. Judith will also bring the physical Buddy Bench on the day for our school

Aldi - Rugby Stickers

For anyone who shops in Aldi, they are running a promotion giving Primary Schools the chance to win €50,000 in sports equipment plus other prizes.

With every €30 you spend, you will be given a Rugby sticker which needs to be dropped into the School and stuck onto our Aldi Rugby poster.

This promotion is valid till April 7th and the more stickers we collect the more changes we have of winning. We need 300 stickers per poster.

So please remember Moneenroe National School when doing the shopping!


Hurling/Camogie Coaching

U11 and U13 Hurling/Camogie Coaching (February, March, April and May) Our school will enter U11 and U13 hurling teams again this year. Training will be on Mondays in the hall to start with then the pitch. U13 hurling matches generally take place after school on Wednesdays. There is no definite day allocated for U11 matches due to Croke Park Hour days differing from school to school.

Cora Delaney will help teachers with in school hurling and camogie coaching for seven Thursdays after mid-term. Children should wear their school tracksuit and must wear helmets.


Credit Union Quiz

Well done to the U11 team representing our school Friday night (1st Feb) winning First place and go through to the next stage in March. Best of Luck.

Thursday 7th February. Please leave bags into the school the day before or the Morning of the collection. No Duvets or Pillows. Clothes accepted - Mens, Women & Children's. Household textiles ie curtains, towels. Shoes, belts & handbags

Medal Presentation

Well done to the girls from Clogh & Moneenroe NS who received their school football final medals On Tuesday 4th December 2018, at a presentation in Moneenroe Hall. The medals were presented to the girls by Kilkenny man Steven Scallan who recently starred in the TG4s Underdogs programme. Well done to Mr. Lonergan & Mr. McKeogh for organising and well done to the girls for their great achievement in winning 7 out of 7 games.

















Well done to the girls from Moneenroe & Clogh schools on a fantastic win and display of football in the schools league final against Coon/Muckalee, on Saturday 16th November 2018. The girls won on a score of 8-6 to 4-1, congratulations to all the girls & teachers Mr. Lonergan & Mr. McKeogh for their commitment to the girls and to football in the school. That was 7 wins from 7 games for the girls . Thanks also to the number of supporters that turned out this morning. Thanks to Railyard GFC for sponsoring treats for the girls in McDonalds afterwards.
